Meet the Founder

Blendily-Founder-Ivy-Chuang My story is simple, I became a mom in 2012, and it opened my eyes to be more conscious about everything in life. I had no clue how to pronounce or understand half of the ingredients on most of the products that I was using on my skin & body on a daily basis. I had spent a small fortune on skincare in different avenues over the years: dermatologist visits, facials, glycolic acid, retin-A, name brand regimens, drugstore varieties, light therapy treatments, fancy electric brushes, etc. etc., and still I was chasing the mirage of flawless skin.After my daughter came into the picture, I decided to retire my quest for vanity and pivot the focus onto happiness and health.  So I delved into studying botanicals and started making my own skin & body care from scratch.  I realized in the process – I felt empowered by the knowledge of ingredients, I felt connected to nature, and I felt more beautiful and comfortable in my own skin than ever, without preservatives and without chemicals I couldn’t pronounce.

I thought this feeling was compelling enough that it would be worthwhile to bring all that I had learned of botanical ingredients and natural product formulation to others.  That’s the story so far, hope it continues with you.  The Blendily Kitchen is now open for your orders.

A little more about Ivy’s Background
Ivy is a Registered Aromatherapist certified by the Aromatherapy Registration Council (ARC) and a Professional Member of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA).  She has completed Certificates in Aromatherapy & Natural Product Formulation from American College of Healthcare Sciences (Portland, OR).  She is an graduate of Portland Beauty School and is a licensed Esthetician the State of Oregon.Ivy also holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Emory University (Atlanta, GA), and a Master’s in Design from Domus Academy (Milan, Italy). She lives in Portland, Oregon. When not concocting potions & elixirs, she enjoys bicycling and eating, separately.
